Alice Hui

Flutist Alice Hui studied with Olivier Nowak at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), graduating with a bachelor’s degree in First Class Honours. She was awarded a full scholarship by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to pursue postgraduate study at École Normale de Musique de Paris under the tutelage of Vicens Prats, Principal Flute of the Orchestre de Paris. Having received full scholarship from the École Normale for two years further, she completed her Diplome Superieur d’Enseignement and Diplome Superieur d’Execution in 2018 and 2019, winning first prizes in both instances. She subsequently entered directly the second year of the Diplome Superieur de Concertiste, studying with Mihi Kim.

Alice has been a freelance flutist for the Hong Kong Sinfonietta since 2014. She was a touring member of the Asian Youth Orchestra in 2015, and is currently Principal Flute of the Inheritage Philharmonic. As a soloist, Alice Hui was the winner of the HKAPA Concerto Competition in 2016, and was chosen as one of the RTHK Radio 4’s “Young Music Makers” in 2017.
