Naamyam is a narrative singing tradition that was once a popular form of entertainment in the Canton region, including Hong Kong, during the early 20th century. This creative project led by the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble (HKNME) focuses on practice-led research and the revitalisation of this important local oral tradition. Several new generation Cantonese Opera actors give live demonstrations and share their experiences and appreciation of Naamyam in staged performance.
